Claim through Revenue MyAccount: Manage your tax → Tax Credits and Reliefs → Rent Tax Credit. You can claim for the four previous tax years as well as the current one, so an unclaimed credit is not lost. The tenancy must be registered with the RTB where registration is required, and rent paid to a parent does not qualify.

  2. Go to “Manage your tax 2025”
  3. Select “Tax Credits and Reliefs”
