Privacy notice

1Who we are

CheckIreland.ie is a set of free calculators and guides for everyday costs, tax and money decisions in Ireland. It is operated by Conjora Limited, a company registered in Ireland, which is the controller of the personal data described here under the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

This notice covers checkireland.ie only. Contact us about anything in it at hello@conjora.ie.

2What we collect

• Your email address, when you ask us to send you something — results, alerts, a newsletter or a receipt — together with which emails you have asked for.
• Figures you enter into calculators. Most are worked out in your browser and never sent to us; where a tool needs to send them (for example to email you a result) it says so.
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited and errors — kept in server logs for security and to fix faults.
• Messages you send us, and our replies.

3Why we use it, and on what basis

• To provide what you asked for — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
• To send emails you signed up to — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw with the unsubscribe link in every email.
• To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix faults — our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• To measure how the site is used, through analytics cookies — your consent, given or refused in the cookie banner.

4Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising profiles. We share it only with service providers that process it for us under a written contract:

• Vercel — website hosting.
• Supabase — database and file storage, hosted in the EU.
• Google Workspace — sending and receiving email.
• Google Analytics — usage statistics, only if you accept analytics cookies.

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

5How long we keep it

• Email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. We keep a record of the unsubscribe so we do not email you again.
• Server logs: up to 30 days.
• Messages to us: up to two years after the conversation ends.

6Cookies

We use cookies that the site needs to work and, only if you agree, analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site’s cookies, which brings the banner back.

7Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@conjora.ie; we answer within one month.

If you are not satisfied with our answer you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

8Changes to this notice

If we change how we use personal data we will update this page and its date. If a change is significant and we have your email address, we will tell you before it takes effect.
